About Typing Dungeon

Typing Dungeon is a free browser game where you defeat monsters by typing words correctly. It combines typing practice with a roguelike RPG. No install needed: it runs right in your browser, in English or Korean.

What kind of game is it?

Monsters walk toward your hero with a word floating above their heads. Type that word and your hero attacks. If a monster reaches you before you finish, you lose health. Defeat enough monsters to clear the stage, and every three or four stages a boss appears that can only be beaten by typing whole sentences in time.

After each stage you choose one upgrade out of three. Collect upgrades from the same family to build a synergy that adds explosions, freezes or lightning strikes. Different choices lead to very different runs, which is the heart of a roguelike. When your health hits zero the run is over and you start again.

Features

Real typing practice

Every key counts. Words are lowercase and checked letter by letter, so the habit of typing cleanly without looking at the keyboard is exactly what makes you stronger in the game. A typo clears the word and blocks input for a fraction of a second, so accuracy beats button mashing.

Combos and specials

Hit word after word without mistakes to build a combo. Higher combos multiply both your damage and your score. Combos also fill the special gauge: the Warrior unleashes a Blade Storm, the Rogue fires an Arrow Rain and the Mage calls down Meteors on the nearest monsters.

Eight regions and their bosses

Each boss you defeat moves you to a new region: Dungeon Prison, Moonlit Forest, Ice Cavern, Lava Fields, Demon Castle, Poison Swamp, Sun Desert and the Edge of the Abyss. Every region has its own monsters and a boss with its own attack style. See the Codex for details.

Character growth

Sign in with Google to create characters of three classes: Warrior, Mage and Rogue. Each run earns gold and experience. Level up to raise your stats and buy gear in the shop. You can also play every stage as a guest and still put your name on the ranking.

Fair rankings

The English and Korean versions have separate rankings. Scores are never trusted as sent by the browser: the server recalculates every score from the run record and rejects impossible typing speeds or times. Pasting and automated input are blocked.

Requirements

• Desktop: the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari with an English keyboard layout.
• Mobile: type with the on-screen keyboard and use the buttons below the game for specials and pause.
• Press F2 to turn sound on or off.
